Quran for Duo

Privacy Policy

Quran for Duo is a Quran reader made for iPhone Duo, and “we” in this policy means its developer. The app is built to work entirely on your device: there is no account, no server of ours, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We never receive your reading or anything else you do in the app.

What the app keeps, and where

• Your place in the book and your settings are stored on your iPhone.
• Your reading log (where you chose to stop, and your pinned surahs) and your khatmahs are stored on your iPhone.
• Both are included in your iPhone's iCloud or computer backup, like other app data, so restoring a backup brings them back. The app does not use iCloud Drive or sync anything itself.

Network

The whole mushaf and its fonts are inside the app, so reading never needs a network connection, and the app makes no network requests in normal use. The one exception: if a page font were ever missing, the app would download it from the Quran Foundation's font server, which, like any server, sees your IP address. The request carries nothing else about you. Released versions include every page font, so this is not expected to happen.

Permissions

The app asks for no permissions: no camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or notifications.

Deleting

• In the app you can delete a reading, unpin a surah, or start a khatmah over.
• Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone. Copies in your existing device backups follow your backup settings.

Crash reports

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. They do not contain your reading.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

This website

This website (lathieff.com) uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and loads nothing from other companies. Like any website, its host keeps short-lived server logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the site.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
