Common questions
How do I turn a page?
Swipe across the page, as you would turn a page of paper. Only a swipe turns a page; a tap never does, so a touch while you read won't lose your place.
Where are the buttons?
A short bar of buttons (Index, Go to page, Khatmah, Reading log, About and Settings) shows when the book opens. To bring it back, tap the bottom corner of a page. It goes away on its own.
How do I mark where I stopped?
Hold the number at the end of an ayah, then choose Stop here. Only what you mark is counted; nothing is counted by itself. Your readings are listed by day in the Reading log, with dates in Hijri and Gregorian.
How does a khatmah work?
Start one from the Khatmah button (Start a khatmah…). You read it in order, and the Khatmah menu shows how far you are and where to continue. You can start over at any time from the same menu.
Can I change the cover?
Yes: Settings › Binding has seven covers, each with its own paper and colours inside. Light and dark reading are under Settings › Appearance.
Can I read one page larger?
Double tap a page to read it alone, larger, and scroll it. The bar has a button to go back to the two pages.
Does it work on other iPhones?
Yes. On an iPhone without a hinge, the app shows one page at a time.
Does it need the internet?
No. The whole mushaf and all its fonts are inside the app.
Is my reading backed up?
Your place, your reading log and your khatmahs are stored on your iPhone and are included in its iCloud or computer backup. Restoring that backup on a new iPhone brings them back. The app doesn't sync between devices.
